Clear Water

I did a flip off a sandbar

Into the sea.

Forwards, then backwards,

Both were scary to me.

I would run up

To the edge, where the water got deep

then turn away just as quickly,

Avoiding the leap.

My body wouldn’t listen

To what my brain said to do!

Jump, tuck, spin, splash!

But then I thought of you.

The fluidity with which

You do all you dare

Cleared my thoughts, and with that,

I flipped in the air.
